While prepping for the Science section of the ACT in September, I would always get 33-36 (timed and using the Official ACT practice tests). On the real one in September, I got a 27. I tried to skip the text and go straight to the questions.
Do you guys have any advice on what I could do for this October one?

Read through the text carefully. o_o There is no way you could skip the entire text and answer the questions correctly.

Also, brush up on basic physics, bio, and chem. While it isn’t necessary, it helps you avoid that panic moment of "OMG i’ve never taken physics before… " when you see the physics part of the science test.

Well in practice, that is what I generally did and I got scores from 33-36. I would read the text IF necessary, but I would go straight to the questions and if they said “Figure 1,” I would generally find the answer in Figure 1 without looking at the rest of the passage.

this is my opinion:

when just going straight to the questions, you waste much time searching through the text later. It would be more efficient to just read the passage carefully once and go through all the questions afterwards. This means that even if you have to look back at the text, you have a general idea of where the information you’re looking for should be located.

I’m a fast reader so it worked for me → 36 on science section.

i have register for ACT on oct 22 but due to lack of time i am not being able to raise my confident level and pace myself on time. so what i would like to ask is," IS it good to give exam on oct 22 only or i should postpone the date for dec 10 and what will be better is it good to send the best score of dec which is given with lots of practice or its better to send the score of this oct 22 to university " does the exam which of dec 10 counts a lot or this oct 22 counts a lot. i am really in confusion. and if i don’t score well in this oct 22 and if i reschedule in dec then that counts better or its better to postpone on december. waiting for the best answer asap . thank you

collegeact I suggest you take the ACT both on october and december, but ONLY if you call the universities you will be applying to and ask them the following:

Is it okay to apply with my October act score and then later on send you my December act score? And if it is okay, will the lower score have any negative influence on my application?

thanks for the suggestion @mq1993 but due to lack of time i gave up act i will be giving on dec 10
