act science section

is it hard? i didn't take high school biology and chemistry can i take ACT?

Just take some practice quizzes before hand. You don’t really need to actually know any science to do well on the science section. It’s all about interpreting graphs and tables and stuff

Ugh I HATE the ACT science. I pulled a 29 on my first practice test, but it is my lowest section and will probably drag my composite score down 1-2 points next week.

sounds great haha

I agree with what jgraider said. Take practice tests. Many people I know were caught off guard because they didn’t realize what the section was going to be testing.

The science section was the worst for me. What makes it harder is the limited time you have to relate the passage to the answers. I scored 6 points lower on it than the rest of my scores. It may have only dragged me down 1 composite point, but I felt like I didn’t have enough time to do it and I did far worse on it than other sections as a result.

This is exactly what happened to me.

Same haha

Just be prepared to read experiment setups and results, etc. Lot of complicated graphs and interpretations of those graphs.

It might help to have some prior knowledge of science, but it isn’t required. I took regular classes in Bio, Chem, and Physics and found that the topics discussed required very little knowledge of the subjects. It is basically find the information and answer the question in limited time constraints.
