Why does this score make me stand in the 95th percentile???

Should I send this score to the U of Chicago?

Do you think 95th is good enough??

Can anyone please give a reply?

An ACT score of 29 is a very good score, but "very good" is relative to the schools to which you are applying. It probably will not help you re: Chicago, but the rest of your application will determine whether or not you are a match for Chicago. You are not getting replies because your post gives too little info. about your qualifications and interests.

29 ACT is in UChicago's usual middle 50% range although the lower part of that range. You have to send a test score so I am not sure what you mean by whether you should send -- have you already submitted another score that is better? Also understand that UChicago evaluates things different from many other colleges. Test score is only one factor (same as at many other elites) but at UChicago it is actually less important than grades, essays, activities -- UChicago is big on trying to find the personalties that it believes will fit at UChicago.

95th percentile simply means that 5% of those who took the test did better than you, meaning only 5% scored 30 or above (usual for the ACT).

I studied for 3 days after my finals and took the test just in case I get deferred by Chicago because it's the only school (among the ones I am applying to) that accepts ACT without the writing test. And really, I got deferred....So, I am planning to send this score if this is actually a reasonable score! I already gave them my SAT(2100). Do you recommend me to send this score? In my opinion, 29 seems a little bit low for them but 95th percentile quite appeals to me.

colleges dont really care about percentiles....

and yes, i understand that percentiles are related to the applicant pool's scores, but that's not even remotely important in the grand scheme of things. your SAT is a higher score.

u actually did worse on the ACT? A 30 on the ACT puts me in the 97th pecentile, but that was last year? I think a 29 is pretty good, but ur SATs are better

So should I not send it ?

No, 2100 >29

^^ agreed 2100 is a much better score.

I already got deferred. So, although it won't help me...if it won't hurt me...isn't it better to send it to show that I am still trying my best to fit into Chicago?
