Does anyone know where I can find the actual number of students nationally who received a 36 composite, the number who received a 35, etc. on the ACT? The College Board website provides these statistics for the SAT (# of 2400, # of 2390, etc.), but I can't find them for the ACT.

http://www.act.org/news/data/10/pdf/profile/two.pdf?utm_campaign=cccr10&utm_source=profilereports&utm_medium=web

What?! I don’t believe that chart… the average was around 22?

Maybe you’ve been on CC for too long, but the average ACT score is not 30, and a 25 is actually a good enough score for most people.

Few students score above 25 in ACT, but most of my students get a lot higher than average score.

I told my dad, a guidance counselor, that i think i have a good shot at scoring a 36. He chuckled a bit and i was a tiny bit hurt by his lack of faith. Then I saw only 588 students nationwide scored a 36 and im chuckling a bit myself

You can do it! The ACT is pretty straightforward, except the science section can be a bit tricky.

It’s true, the average is between 19-21, I’m pretty sure. Students scoring about 25 is good, and guarantees some college admission, but 29+ is a really good score. 30+ will get you a fair amount of scholarships. Past 32 you get into the Ivy League range.

I wonder where you got this data- 30+ equates to a fair number of scholarships. Hmm? I am quite confident scholarships are based on several other factors as well.

Can we get an update on this? The original data isn’t coming up.

The 2013 charts and other data can be found here [2013 ACT National and State Scores | ACT Profile Reports | ACT](http://www.act.org/newsroom/data/2013/profilereports.html). The one you are looking for is in “Section II: Academic Achievement” and there are many other charts and other data that provide a lot of information. These come out annually in summer, usually about August, and are based on the most recent high school graduating class. The data is based on the tests those seniors took in high school, not just as seniors.

Look at this for the current data. http://www.act.org/newsroom/data/2013/pdf/profile/National2013.pdf

1.8 million students in the report.

The National average is 20.9.
A composite of 28 and above puts a student in the top 10% of ACT scores.
A composite of 33 and above puts a student in the top 1% of ACT scores.

1162 scored 36 composite or about .00065%.
