act score increases

I went from a 26(feb) to 27(april) by doing nothing. Was too busy with school work

28 - February
34 - April

(Did all 3 practice tests in the Red Real ACT Prep Guide and used the Princeton Review’s “Cracking the ACT” to learn English grammar rules, geometry laws, and tips for science/reading) Good luck to you all - I’m done! :)

30 - Feb
32 - April
hehe I guess I’m set since I was an ESL XD
I’m so amazed to see that apparently everyone who got >= 32 (1% of ALL testers) is in CC lol!

I thought the state administration was much harder… there were some problems on there that would not have been on a normal ACT. idk, the national ACTs are much better standardized, and I think that accounted for any discrepancies between my 2 official scores.

went from…
Feb: 26
April: 28
did nothing to prepare for both of them because i was too busy with school.

34 to 36 feb to april

33 to 35!
English stayed the same, Math increased by 2 points, Reading by 3 points, and Science by 3 points.

When do essay scores come out again?

Essays will probably be up in a couple of weeks

What is the difference between the state and national administrations?

thats something i’d like to know too…
is the state one harder?
im taking mine the 22nd…

idk, maybe this is just me, but I felt like that there was a level of standardization missing from the state test… Usually I can sort of “feel” what an answer is supposed to be on a standardized test (hard to explain, and it doesn’t work so well for math section).

But most of my friends thought the national test was easier, and most of the people I know picked up a couple of points going from the state test to the national test.

This is pure speculation though, it’s very possible that I’m wrong.

Until reading this thread, I had no idea that there were state versus national administrations and that it made any difference!

Someone got a 5 point increase last year in my school, and he got challenged by the ACT producers… The guys parent hired a lawyer and stuff… He had to retake the ACT alone while a real ACT proctor watches him. In the end, his score was terminated because he didn’t score as high as last time… scary stuff

What??? I don’t believe you…

that’s way too high of a gain unless you cheated.

I went from a 25 (sophomore year) in April 2008, to a 32 on the April 2009 Test.

I got a 4 point increase… Hopefully I don’t get challenged O.O

but just to claify: I definitely did NOT cheat… I would never sink to that level.

i got an 8 point increase from december to april: 24-32… no one has challenged me yet lol. i feel like they would have to have some real reason or suspicion to challenge.

i scored a 29 from a 27…kinda upsetting…but i still wanna go for a 34…but i still have time

how did you guys do on the state test vs. the national test?
