ACT score of 23 to 32 in a month and two weeks?

Hello, I am a senior and this is the last time I plan to the ACT. I currently have a 23. I plan to retake the ACT in Feb. (I am off my first hand). However, I am very motivated. Do you have any ideas so I can improve my scores? I am very diligent and will work with any suggestions in reaching my goal. I am very good in Math and Science at school. In fact, I take Math and Science classes at the local college. But.. I really need help with test taking and the ACT. Here are my scores:

Composite Score: 23

English: 26
Usage/Mechanics: 13
Rhetorical Skills:14

Mathematics: 19
Pre-Algebra/Elem. Algebra: 10
Algebra/ Coord. Geometry: 11
Plane Geometry/Trig.:9

Reading: 25
Social Sciences/ Studies: 13
Arts/Literature: 14

Science: 20

Writing Portion: 6

I really need help. Please someone lend me your advice. :)

Prep books, although this varies for certain people, do come in handy. I used the Real ACT Prep Book (the red one) and it surprisingly was so much more useful than the Princeton Review. It comes with 3 practice tests. I worked through one of the tests with no time limit; I thoroughly went through it picking up on mistakes I made and researched questions I didn't know. On the 2nd and 3rd tests I used the appropriate time limits and my practice tests scores varied between 30-34. There's all different ways to prep for the test; For me, it was this book. And, use the essays on the practice tests. That prep, especially, will come in handy.

I scored 24 in June 2008.
I scored 29 in December 2008 ( with a cram at the night before the test and no extra prep at all )
I am an international student.
So, you may...

I went from a 24 in June to a 30 in December...good luck

stop going to school and work day and night and you should be fine ;)

looks like your math score needs some work. I think someone on the board recommended working from the big blue book for the SAT. does anyone have any comment on this?

I went from 28-33 from the October 08-December 08.

congrats on raising your scores guys they are an inspiration to me but does anyone else have any more ideas how i can improve?

Does ANYONE know any thing that can help me?

I'm in the same position you are. Just PRACTICE.

Buy ACT prep books and PRACTICE like a madman.

I did not do that, and I achieved a composite of 20. This was the first time I took it, and I did not prepare.

Try Barron's 2009, and Princeton Review.

This will help prepare you!

Just a warning: I've heard (though I don't know firsthand) that the Barron's practice tests are significantly more difficult than the actual test, and might discourage you. However, I suppose that if you used Barron's as preparation for a "worst-case scenario", and kept in mind its inflated difficulty, you could get significant use out of it.

dude, if u r a senior...will they accept ur ACT scores THIS late?! isn't February kinda rlly late for a senior?

yeah some of my schools will take it but the ones that don't are accepting the Jan. SAT. Does anyone know of some good prep books that I could use? Does the Collegeboard one work?

all i can tell you to do is TAKE LOTS OF PRACTICE TESTS...
whatever tests you can find...take them
my score went from a 26 to a 32 in about 5 months but i only started studying for it a couple weeks beforehand...so if you really put your mind to it you can

Gruber's SAT for math -- ACT math is easy after you "get" SAT math. Barron's for math & science. PR/Kaplan for reading/english.

I am trying to do the same thing. Hopefully we can both get where we need to be.

one of my friend's went from a 25 to a 32...

so yea...there's hope! Good luck!
