ACT Score of 27 to 30??

I took my first ACT without any prior studying or without familiarizing myself with the ACT and scored a 27. My score in each category was the following:

English: 29
Math: 27
Reading 25
Science: 26
Writing: 10

I want to improve my composite score to at least somewhere in the 30’s. Based on my scores above, how do you suggest I improve my score?

Some other things to note:
I struggled with reading mainly because of time, however i did find the questions to be easy. Science was all diagrams and I thought I would have scored better.

ACT is all about test taking strategy and time management, which can be perfected through practicing. Buy the ACT’s official test book (big red one) and take the practice tests. Also get yourself a good review book and learn test taking strategies and the material on the test.
