<p>Hey guys! So in taking the act this September. I've been studying for a bit and various prep books by Barron's and Kaplan that I use to assist in this process. I'm not very good at math nor science, so Im really trying to up my score in those areas. I'm great at English and ok at reading. I NEED to get a score of 22 or higher. How possible is this? I've never took the act before nor do I know anyone who has. Also, I have to do the writing portion too. I don't know how this factors into my score though.</p>
<p>Check out my thread September 2013 ACT. Post a reply there to get it going and I’ll reply back. What did you get on your practice tests? Princeton review an Kaplan are pretty accurate. Your score on the real thing should be somewhat similar. Try the Real ACT Prep Guide… it has five real ACTs. The first time I took it in eighth grade, I got a 27. Just study a little more and take practices under real time settings and you’ll be fine.</p>
<p>A 22 should be pretty attainable if you are the average student, especially if you are strong in English (and therefore writing, yes?) and Reading. The writing score gets averaged in with your english score before being averaged into your composite. If you are worried because you did not do so well on the SAT, don’t; they are entirely different tests, and many find that the ACT is much easier. Good Luck! </p>
<p>P.S. Don’t get discouraged if your first try does not turn out the way you wanted to. The second time I took my ACT (with no studying in between) I got 2 points higher just because I knew what the test was like.</p>

The writing score is NOT included in your composite score in any way.</the></p>
