ACT Score Releases

After a long hiatus between kids, I am having trouble finding out when to expect ACT scores to be posted. I know today, Sept. 24, is supposed to be first available date for scores. I’ve seen where folks say they are posted at midnight, meaning the first batch should be up right now if I understand correctly.

S20’s score is not posted yet so can I assume that he didn’t make the cut for the day 1 release? I know he said the website says they also upload typically Wed and Fri, but I’ve searched older posts that say scores are only uploaded every Tuesday.

Anyone have the real skinny on the current ACT scoring status? Note - S20 took ACT with no writing. I know that writing can add to the overall time and score release.

I’m wondering the same thing. My friend raved how the ACT score releases were so much fast than the SAT - a week to 10 days. The August 24 SAT score release seemed to be unusually slow; seems Sept 14 ACT is following!

My S20 also did not have his scores from September test ready yet when we checked this am and I was wondering the exact same thing!

No one seems to have them yet. Some say they are coming this afternoon, some say Friday (per calls to ACT, per Reddit ACT forum).

In the same boat here! I just checked and see that my D got her April 13th test date scores on Wednesday, April 24th. I’m hopeful that maybe the scores are uploaded late on Tuesday and will be available tomorrow morning? Regardless, thanks for starting this thread - it’s always helpful to know I’m not the only one waiting.

On a Google search, I found something that said scores are loaded daily, around 1am EST, so if we don’t have them now, we won’t until tomorrow. Don’t know if that’s fact. It think it was on the Prep Scholar site.

I have spoken with three other families (four including mine) and none has received a score yet

At least 7 students who took test at different test sites in area have no scores. A prior test result mysteriously posted 5 weeks late with no explanation for the delay (and no concern from ACT demonstrated in numerous calls throughout that time period).

From Twitter ACTStudent:

Score Release Update: There has been a slight delay with the score release from the Sept 14 test date.

The first score release is now planned for tomorrow, Sept 25, and scores will continue to be released through Nov 8. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Has anyone gotten them?

Yes - my D’s score was available this morning. I don’t know if location has anything to do with the uploading, but we’re in GA.

Also in GA, but no score (again).

S20’s score was in at exactly 1200 CST and it was worth waiting up for.!

We got ours too.

It’s nice to know they’re starting to roll out. Thanks everyone. We’re still waiting.

Anyone else still missing scores? Oct. 15 deadlines quickly approaching…

My son is missing his score. Many students from his testing site have their scores already. I was concerned so I spoke to a rep at ACT yesterday. He told me that although the tests are scored in the order they arrive there still is some randomness to the process. Scores are uploaded Mon/Wed/Fri. The rep was able to look up my son and check that there were no issues with the scantron. Although he couldn’t see the scantron he looked through the emails from ACT to my son and saw that they were routine so there was no issue with the scantron. The rep thought the writing section may have been holding things up and believes the score would be up this coming week. It’s annoying because we wanted to determine if he needed to retake the test in October before registering. We bit the bullet yesterday and registered for the October test.

I know your scores will not be released even if the bubble scores are done without the writing score being complete. I’ve read that on the ACT site in a couple places.

father05 - I am not sure that is the case. ACT Composite is released when they have them. It then says Writing not available yet. They indicate the Writing scores will take several weeks longer. My child has their composite scores from Sept 14 2019 test date but not their Writing scores. Could it be different across states?

I went back and looked. Guess I forgot one word - officially!

“If you took the writing test, your overall scores are not officially reported until your writing scores have been added.”

S20 has not taken the writing test so I was just going off memory.
