Act Score...retake?

So, I got a 22 on my ACT but my college “requirements” for the act are 23-25. Should I retake? My GPA is 3.415 and I’m taking 2 Ap classes and taking their exam.

Yes. You still haven’t met the “requirements”

^ bingo.

Do you need understand why you earned 22. What are your plans for getting a higher score on the ACT? You do need a higher score to meet admissions requirements. Simply taking the test a second suggests that you don’t have a plan such as learning test taking skills suggests that you are relying on the same strategy of luck that resulted in 22.

Study by taking several practice tests and timing them. That should improve your score by the amount required.

Did you prep for the 22? Is that consistent with other standardized testing you’ve done?

Yes, I would recommend you retake the test.

I have a kid working with a tutor for the ACT but honestly, anyone can prep on their own. There are plenty of free resources and even free tests online. Do timed sections. Be firm with the clock. Correct and really understand your wrong answers. If you forgot math or science concepts, look them up on Khan and review. Find similar math problems to review.
