ACT Score Submission

Should I submit a ACT Score of 29? Where is this in the 25-75% range?

Bump. Sorry =/

A 29 is about a 1300 which is maybe 40th percentile...

So I shouldn't submit it to Bates?

if you did really strongly on a sub section then go for it... if not then forget about it the sat obviously isnt too imp to them anyway...

i've heard that its v. hard to get into bates without submitting scores, especially in the regular decision round when the acceptance rate drops to 27%

Well I got 30's on math, reading, writing. A 30 is roughly equal to a 680. Only science brought me down. Additional thoughts?

well i got in, and i didn't submit sat IIs or ACTs but my sat I's were: 800 writing, 780 verbal, 590 math. my math score was really really low and much lower than bates' average, but i'm also ranked 9th in my class. i would still submit yours, they probably wont hurt you.

Thanks, stars. Any other takes?

First of all, RD is much harder to get in. 27% is the rate for ALL rounds. That means that since ED is usually about a 45% acceptance rate, RD is much lower, like prob. less than 20%. Most ppl i know that aren't incredibly brilliant applied ED.

Don't worry about scores, it really doesn't matter. They won't hold anything against you if you don't submit. Their statistics show that there's no difference between the academic performance of submitters and non-submitters, so they don't assume you're not as strong an applicant because you don't submit.

any other questions?

wait, gwall, do you go to bates?

Yes, gwall =). Should I submit them?

If it's equivalent to a 1300 on the SAT i wouldnt.

Yes, I go to Bates.

how do you like it?

It's amazing. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I just found out I made Dean's List this past semester too which doesn't hurt.
