ACT score to low?

I have a 25 ACT and i'm out of state. All other stats are great, 4.0 UW GPA, Honors classes, AP, etc. But is it even possible to be admitted with this ACT score?

doubt it, but everyone has a shot

test scores aren’t that important to UC, so an awesome essay can do the trick.

Good luck.

@bluebayou: are you kidding? test scores are VERY important to UCs.

In the great scheme of things, UC places less weight on tests scores than other selective colleges. So yeah, they are important, but not as important as gpa. 800’s and crappy essays won’t get you into Cal, but 600’s and excellent essays will.

It’s all relative.

I agree with bluebayou. Berkeley weighs HS GPAs and ECs more than they do test scores (SATs, ACTs, etc…)

Not trying to sound discouraging but test scores are the most important factor after HS GPA. (Unless you have some EXTREMELY impressive EC like starting a company or w.e.) So you could try to take it again or take the SAT if you have time, I think the January test can be used, not sure though.
By the way, 800s + good GPA will get people into Cal, (I know a couple of people here like that) regardless of your essay as long as you wrote one and you don’t come off as a jackass.
