I wouldn’t take it again. A 34 is high enough to get you accepted. Now it will depend on your grades, ECs etc. A higher ACT score will not make up for other areas.

Most people I know that got in ED had an ACT around 32-34 so you are ok. Now you’ll need a high GPA and good SAT II’s . EC, essay and good recommendations also a must.

I never calculated my ACT superscore, but I got into Wash U today with an ACT score of 31 (I took it twice and got 31 twice). My superscore was probably around 33 as I got high scores on different subjects both times I took the test. I didn’t do too well on my tests, but the rest of my application was, I think, exceptional. Good luck!

I would not waste the time taking it again- BTW my son got a single highest composite of 30 and a superscore of 32 and was accepted today. The score is only 1 part of the puzzle. Grades are important, but who you are outside the classroom is a big deal, in y opinion.

Hey @jjj123 i’m a high school senior who just got into wash u this past friday! i had act scores even lower than yours and got in. but also people with 36’s on their acts were rejected. so id like to make clear to you that at wash u you arent just a number which is pretty awesome.

so my advice to you is instead of franticly trying to live up to a mere stupid number that causes anxiety, focus your effort on other parts that can better your application, help you stand out, and try your best to find and begin to explore your passions. it worked for me :)

I just got in with a 34 superscore. you really really have to show interest. I had an interview, went to my Wash U college day at my school, toured the school junior year, emailed the cross country coach, spent the night for three days, and I am a completely average applicant. If you show a lot of interest you will definitely get in!!! Good luck!!

A 33 (34 ss) is a great score but if you are willing to put some study time in it might be worthwhile. My s got a 32 3x then did lots of practice tests and ended up with a 36 comp. And a merit scholarship at WashU :)

33 is fine. I was accepted this year into Wash U RD with a 33 composite on the ACT (I was wait-listed in their ED app, but after some few emails showing my dedication and interest to this school, I was accepted in their RD pool). I would look into getting your GPA higher and writing a killer essay for that Common App.
