So I got a 33 which is ok I guess but I was really aiming for a 34+. Anyway, I saw that one of my friends got a 34 and he sent me a picture of his score report, he got a 36 in english where as I got a 35, however upon closer inspection I saw that the little subscores, Usage and mechanics and rhetorical skills, were the same scores, 18 and 17. How is it possible that we had the same subscores for english yet he got a higher overall english score, the reason I would like to know this is because had I gotten one more point on any of the sections I would have a 34 composite so Im actually pretty livid that he does the same as me yet he gets a better grade…
Bump
The same thing happened to me on the December 2014 ACT. I got a 35 in English even though my two subscores were 18. I think it’s just that you could miss 1 or 2 to get a 17, compared to missing none and getting an 18. So I think your friend missed one on the 17 subscore he got while you missed two but still received a 17, and the curve for english was probably -1 = 36, -2 = 35
@superqd Well that sucks. Thanks anyway!
