I just got my September ACT score back and I was wondering how it would help/hurt my chanes at Penn. I got a 32 composite. I did not study for it and I have been studying for the SAT a lot and I am hoping for a good score there. Is this a below average score for Penn students? I plan on applying ED to CAS. Also, how does Penn look at the writing score of the ACT. What would be a good score in this section?

Well since 33 is about average and that translate roughly to about a 2200 on the SAT does that mean that anything below 2200 is below average for Penn?

what about the second part of the question?
Do they look at your writing scores separately? Cause I did bad on the ACT writing (only got an 8) but a 35 composite score without it. Will that affect anything?

actually zester and simpleton, the average sat for a penn students is actually around 2160 (slightly less than 2200).

a 33 equates to a 1470 on a 1600 scale. im pretty sure this years incoming class's average sat score is 1460. so again, pretty similar. but that still means 50 percent of the student body came in with less than a 33 and a 1460..
