I took the ACT with writing and got a 30 on it. I took the ACT without writing the second time and got a 33. My question is that will Vanderbilt take my 33 for admissions? In other words, can i send both scores to Vanderbilt or will they only take the ACT with writing? Will they take the higher score? I really don't want to take it again.

send both. The admissions staffers are experienced at figuring things out fine. Our son sent in a high ACT without writing and his SAT with writing. You should just send in both ACTs and make sure to send in any other supplementary test scores Subject tests etc. Good luck! Not the same as superscoring the ACT but should meet their requirements.

They should consider the highest scores of each section, even if it was from a test that didn’t have writing. They just want to make sure that a writing section score gets submitted.
