ACT scores question

I took the ACT this Saturday and think I did okay. However, I don’t think I’ll get the scores I want for my top choice colleges. The dilemma I’m having is whether I should tell ACT to send my scores to colleges when they come out, as it is currently free. My parents say I should go and send while I, on the other hand, am reluctant. I will be taking the test once again for sure as my school is sponsoring it. Should I, or should I not, send my scores to top colleges without knowing them first? I don’t want to be hurt in admissions because of this.

I usually send my schools the score after it comes out; although a free score report is good, I’d prefer that the school receive a good score rather than a bad one. That’s just my opinion though. If you are applying to any schools that require all scores to be sent, however, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to send them while they’re free.

@azwu331 Good idea. I’ll check into that. If I do better on the March test, I will definitely send those scores as well.

Choose the schools that want all scores anyway, and also send to safety schools. This way would save you some money.

Also, I took the SAT once in my freshman year to apply to a prep school that required it. Would I also have to submit that score to colleges that require your entire testing history? Would that negatively impact me as I did very poorly (1580?) on the test?
