ACT scores- should I send now?

My son will be applying to Engineering at UT Austin in the Fall.
His composite score is 30. He plans to take it again in June in hopes of improving his overall composite score. However, he made a 35 on the math portion!
Im wondering if there is any advantage to go ahead and send his current ACT into Admissions
Or wait until we get the results from his June test ?
I was thinking maybe with his math score he may get invited to a camp or catch someone's eye since Engineering Places such importance on math.

I appreciate your help!

You might want to wait and see how he does with the next test. It gets expensive to keep sending more scores (the ACT/SAT scam). I would ask how each individual school looks at the various subscores and if the school superscores the ACT. Your son did great on the math, but something dragged his composite down, so he should focus on trying to go after his weak points.

I agree. While a 35 on the math is great, something caused the 30 composite…I don’t believe it is worth sending until you see the next score- and now he knows what he needs to improve on. Maybe his next composite will catch both eyes, not just one! ; )

You are right about the fees! UT does not super score. I have found most the larger state schools don’t. Yes, reading pulled his score down. He can still improve in reading and maybe a little in Science. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks! Good points…catching both eyes is the goal! :))
