Hi everyone! I know that Georgetown does not allow score choice, so I’m hoping to get some feedback on a good plan of action for standardized tests. I recently took the ACT and scored a 34 on it, which I am pretty happy about. However, I would like to shoot for a 35 in the fall. If I do take it again and happen to score lower than a 34, would that look bad on the Georgetown App, since score choice isn’t allowed? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
A 34 seems pretty competive as it is. I’d suggest working on other parts of your application like recs and essays then you should be fine
I don’t think it would look bad, as long as it’s not catastrophically bad. They’ll likely just look at your highest score. Making you send all your scores just lets them make sure that your high score isn’t blind luck after taking it a bunch of times. Although I agree with David above. A 34 is already pretty good, so unless you want to make up for some other weakness in your app, I think it’s fine.
I would have to agree that being in the 99th percentile is indeed “pretty good”.
