ACT scores!

I just got my scores back for the April 10th ACT. First of all, this is strange because I got these in the mail 2 days earlier than they were supposed to be up online (usually online scores are posted first). Unfortunately, they were not what I was hoping for. I had taken the ACT in December and got a 32 composite (32 Math, 32 English, 31 Science, 31 Reading, 11 on the writing portion) and decided to take them again because I thought I could improve my reading scores especially. So I took the ACT again in April, and got a 31 Composite! (30 math, 31 English, 35 Reading, 26 English). So my science scores are comparatively abysmal. Was my 32 just a fluke, or can I come back from this mishap and perhaps still get a 33/34?

Your scores are fine. But…How did you get your scores so early? I checked on-line and it said they’d be posted online starting April 26.

I have no idea how I got them so early. I know neither me or my parents paid 4 any sort of expediated score reporting service. So it’s just weird.

Im fairly sure that you cannot actually have your scores.

Lol, people he’s not asking you to dispute the fact that he has his scores already. He’s asking how to improve. My 2 cents is this: if Science is your weakest subject, you need to take as many Science tests as possible for practice. As many people agree, this is the only definitive way to improve Science scores and not just rely on the difficulty of the particular exam to influence your scores. Also, I’m curious, but did you by chance order your test after you took it from either the December 09 or April 10 ACT?

I’m guessing that the 26 is in science and not in English, right?

Well, did you pay the extra to get the detailed score report? If not, do so now (it’s not too late). You’ll get the test booklet and the answer key (with what you got wrong indicated). Use that to find out why your science dropped so badly. Perhaps you mis-bubbled or didn’t do that last part of the section. If you see that you got all the ones wrong in one area or at the end, you’ll know.

As for getting a 33/34. Yes, you might get that, but be prepared not to. Often kids want to get a 33+ because that’s what’s often needed for top elite schools, but they’re not able to.

I would have been a skeptic about him/her having thier scores by now, but on the ACT in Feb, I got my scores 1 WEEK after I took the ACT. Very wierd. They are doing things differently now with the whole mailing system.
