I’m hoping for a 34! My best is a 32, and I really think I can beat it. Maybe I should take a practice test soon, because I haven’t touched one in a while :p.

For anyone using the McGraw-Hill 10 practice tests book: the common belief is that the tests in it are far easier than the test itself. To some extent, I’ve found this to be true.

I prepped for the June ACT with this by taking several tests from it.
Score on the real ACT:
Comp 33, Eng 33, Math 35, Reading 30, Science 35
Practice test from book scores (using their “correction factor”):
Comp 34, Eng 30, Math 36, Reading 33, Science 36
Comp 33, Eng 28, Math 36, Reading 32, Science 36
Comp 35, Eng 33, Math 36, Reading 36, Science 36

Hoping for a 34 or higher this time around (not applying to Harvard or anything, but need something to balance my 3.4 GPA and the by and large lack of extracurriculars…)
Good luck to everyone!

Got a 32 my first time in 10th grade, 34 11th grade, then a 32 later my junior year, and this will be the last time I take it. I just want to move it up to a 35. I can get a 5 on the AP calculus exam but I can’t seem to get above a 33 on the ACT math section. Anyone else have that problem? :(

guys i think im going crazy, im actually beginning to enjoy the practice tests now

^lol wish i was at that level!

my composite was a 31 when i took it in july (reading 30, math 35, english 31, science 26)
i practiced w/ barrons 36 and pr 1296, and my composite only improved by 1… -___-;;;;;
is the pr 1296 harder than the actual test? i hope it is because i’m aiming for 33+

you guys are really good!

I just started prepping major in the last few days and I dont have enough time for 1 practice test a day so i do 2 sections a day.

so far my scores are the following:

M: 27-28
E:28-29
R:30
S: 27>

My biggest problem is Science (because of time!!!) and on Math some of the trig gets me and the TIME TT. I was question 55 and i ran out of time -- took me an extra 4 mins to finish the 5 left over problems. I gotta speed it up!

Since tomorrow is thursday, I plan on doing a crap load in school during my study hall and then finish the other 2 practice tests in the red book before friday night

I believe that the McGraw-Hill 10 ACT may offer the best science practice tests out there (besides the Red Book of course). I saw that some of the science tests were really accurate, as in the questions were sometimes taken word-for-word from a real ACT test.
When I take the McGraw-Hill, I usually don’t use their correction factor. Instead, I directly use the 3 scoring tables in the Red Book and see the score range (i.e. 29-31).

If anyone is interested in sharing how they thought the test went, (without discussing specific questions, of course) go to this thread:
