ACT State Score Question

Hey,

I had to take the ACT as part of Colorado Testing requirements. I got my scores back today (35), and the report says "state" at the top. It was a full ACT test (without the writing).

Will this special designation affect its use at colleges, in particular Stanford or University of CA schools? I have already taken the SAT w/ Writing, so I didn't do the ACT writing component.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry to break the news, your ACT will do nothing for you if your applying to a college that requires writing. Or am i wrong here? You need to take ACT with writing EVEn if you took the SAT with writing.

Yea, most colleges want the writing.

:)

send it anyways.. nice job

Actually, most colleges are flexible this year and will take the ACT with or without writing. Unfortunately, the University of CA schools are not one of them and will require writing. Stanford, however, will still take it, I believe.

No, I'm sorry. Stanford wants the ACT with writing. It accepts SAT with or without writing though.

I'd take writing just to be sure...but check colleges anyways

you should just take the ACT again, since the writing score doesn't affect your composite. they will still see that 35 of yours.
