ACT super-scoring question....

I have taken the act twice, oct. 09 w/writing, and mar. 10 w/ no writing. Will Rutgers still super-score these?

Oct 09:

Eng -23
Math - 25
Reading - 25
science - 31
Writing - 8/12
COMPOSITE: 26

Mar 10 (no writing)

Eng - 30
Math - 26
Reading - 23
Science - 28
COMPOSITE: 27

Super -Score

Eng- 30
Math - 26
Reading - 25
Science - 31
COMPOSITE: 28

I sent the following email question to Rutgers:

“When evaluating a candidate for admission, if the ACT test is taken more than once, does the Rutgers take the best subscore from each ACT test date and calculate a new composite score (i.e., superscore the tests)? I look forward to hearing from you.”

And here was their answer:

"Hello there,

Thank you for writing! Generally admissions will combine the highest scores you have received from different sessions to come up with one cumulative score.

I hope this helps!"

My interpretation of this is that they would superscore the ACT. However, the only issue you have is that you had two different types of tests, i.e., one with writing and one without writing, so I’m not sure if they would consider those the same test for this purpose. You may want to email them or give them a call.
