So how does Cornell superscore the ACT? Do they take the best subtests+essay from each sitting and combine them into one score?

Here are my numbers, if that helps

Math 36
English 30
Science 36
Writing 35
essay 8
Combined e+w 31

34 composite, 33 w/ writing ->would be 34 if I had a 9 essay or 31 English, which is mainly why I would retake the test if Cornell superscores subtests/essays

Thanks in advance!

You really don’t need to retake; the composite score is really what matters most, but your science and math scores may be looked at more closely if you are applying to the college of engineering or arts and sciences (for math or science major) however those scores are perfect.

dang, I just signed up for the ACT because the late deadline is ending soon. no refunds =/

will getting a worse score hurt me? I think i got lucky on the writing and science, I’ll probably get around 32 for both if i retake

but they will superscore so that a 9 essay or 31 english will bump my act w/ writing score by 1 point… right? xD

Bump, any thoughts appreciated
