ACT Test | June 12, 2010

Good luck all, 36's for everyone.

I only had a few hours of sleep -.- About to leave now!

I only got a few hours of sleep too :frowning: I suppose I should be leaving now as well…

Easy test.

I ran out of time on science. Despite the fact that I like science, it seems to be my weakest area on the ACTs :(

@all4game, same here on both accounts lol.

However, overall i think i did pretty well

SAT > ACT.

I think an exam with more time to answer questions that demand a slightly higher caliber of thinking makes more sense than one that gives you less time to answer relatively easy questions.

The math, for me, was the hardest. Because of time, I had to guess two. Oh well.

The first section was ridiculously easy. Reading was pretty simple as well.

I didn’t know how to do a few of the math problems, which concerned me, I guess I just wasn’t thinking well because they seemed like they should be simple enough… oh well, at least theres no penalty for wrong answers. :)

I had to guess on 2 for math as well - both in the last 3 or 4 questions. Otherwise, I don’t think I got much of anything else wrong. My essay was 4 pages.

are we allowed to discuss test questionss/answers? Do you guys want to compiile a list of answers?

I love the ACT essays. So much better than the SAT ones lol

well I just got bent over… well idk maybe I did well. Didn’t know 1 on English with the shimmering colors. I wasn’t sure where to place the comma. Math I had to guess on 3 reading might be a 36 unless some ■■■■■■■■ mistake. And science… God damn that geonotype thing!!! I probably got atleast 2 wrong in that and probably made the most ■■■■■■■■ mistake ever…I said colon was circulatory!!! NO!!! Do you guys think 5 wron in science section is still a 30? If so I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch but possibly the all hailed 33. I’m not to sure…

no penalty for wrong answers FTW!!!
but, do you guys know how many you can get wrong to get a 34 on the math etc etc. i mean, i know it varies from test to test but still i cant even find ONE conversion chart even in my barrons book. idk, i think i got 50 math right. not cause i didnt know the other 10, but cuz i ran out of time, cuz im sure i would’ve gotten those others right =////
what do you guys think? also, for the reading, i left the 4th passage undone (i guessed C’s though) cuz of no time. this was my FIRST time though, no practice tests prior or anything. what do you think? retake in september right?

how come there aren’t any threads on ACT questions/answers right after the test like there are with the SAT’s? Why doesn’t anyone discuss ansewrs after taking the ACT’s?

Let’s discuss!

Yeah anyone want to make the threads then? I’ll go ahead and make the math one.

I think -5 will be below 30 especially since this test was not that hard. There was an official test released in which -3 was a 30. The curve was ridiculous. -2 was a 32 and -1 was a 34. So -5 will be below 30.

What were th 4 reading passages also everyone put down all they remember about the science part with the flowers

there was one you had to calculate the percent of offspring that would be tall and pink. I think the answer was 50%
