<p>The ACT is a college entrance exam like the SAT. There are some differences in test structure and contnet, but the two are essentially the same. The ACT is a lot more common in the midwest that on the coasts and some people say colleges prefer the SAT.</p>

It has traditionally been used more in the midwest, while the SAT is used on the coasts. This has changed in the last few years and almost every college will take ACT scores instead of SAT. <p>No. It's essentially reading comprehension...only about experiments and research.</p>
<p>Go to the link I posted above. They've got a lot of specific information about the test. Your school GC and your public library will have a practice test book you can have for free, or you can download a practice test from the ACT site.</p>
