I took the ACT today and it definitely was NOT the box of chocolates that I thought it was going to be. The math and English was easy but science ad reading tore me a new one. They started the reading with a story that I literally had no clue what they were talking about and the science...it was a hit mess. Soooooo, I was wondering if, when you took the ACT, it was what you were expecting or if you were taken by surprise like me.

Go to the ACT forum.

But this has to do with my life…in high school…

Can’t tell if trolling or just stupid…

hahahahahhaha.

Sorry, I don’t have anything informative to say.

There’s no need to be rude dfree124. I’ve done nothing but ask a simple question. Either contribute something positive and worth while to my topic or hop out of here

I’m just playing by the rules, bro, you should try that sometime.

@Niquii77,
I agree with you… it is not necessary to comment to your thread if they are not reponding to your question.

BTW, I find the english and math SUPER easy, but reading and science sucks because of the time-contraint! That is my only issue. I do not know what to expect next month, hopefully it is easier than I think. Was the english and math easier or harder (in relation to your expectations)?

I agree with the whole time thing!

I think that overall, the SAT’s questions were harder, but you were less crunched for time. With the ACT, the questions were easier and simpler, but you really had to rush to get them all done!

Exactly!! The SAT has easier math questions but harder reading questions. I have no idea how to improve on my reading and science speed. When I take practice tests, I only finish the first three reading passages, and have to guess on the last passage. Fortunately, I always get those questions right, which brings me to a high 20 (27-29), but if it were not for the last passage and timing, I could manage in my 30’s.

@Rob1995, have you taken the official tests for either the ACT or SAT?

Congrats! You figured out what thousands already have!

^ Hey dfree, your biting sarcasm makes you sound kind of bitter.
Just sayin’.

Also, I thought this thread title was making a play on words…as in, “let’s discuss the math portion of the ACT after we took the test.” Haha. Guess not.

Haha I never thought about the title that way! Your comment made me chuckle in amusement.

@needstostudy
Math and English was the easiest for me. English I went through without a problem, and math was a joke to me. I honestly could do that with my eyes closed. Now that I look back in it, I wish I could do that instead of the stuff I’m doing in my math class right now. It’s weird because when I was in my prep class English was the one I was weak in and Reading was my strong point. On the actual test it completely flip-flopped.

@Niquii77:Did you go to an ACT prep class? Do you think the SAT is easier or the ACT?

^ My school provided ACT subject prep classes until the day of the test. I went for English since when I took the PLAN my English was 88% compared to math and science 96%-99%. I’ve never taken the SAT (taking it May 5), but when I took the PSAT it was a lot different. I didn’t feel so rushed, though.
