how do you guys deal with act timing, especially the science section?

Practice is essential to dealing with time on the ACT. The more you practice, the faster you will get and the more comfortable you will become with the test format.

For the Science section, I do the passages in order from the least amount of questions to the most amount of questions. The Data Representation passages have five questions each, so do them first. The Research Summaries passages have six questions each, so do them second. The Conflicting Viewpoints passage will take the most amount of time, so doing that passage last will allow you to get more points on the shorter Data Representation and Research Summaries passages.

Remember, every question on the ACT is worth one point, so try to answer the shorter passages in a short amount of time, which will give you more time on the longer passages. The more you practice, the less pressure you will feel come test day!
