ACT timing?

I was looking at the ticket for the ACT and it says it starts and 8:00am and ends at 12:15, 1pm for those taking the writing test. How does that make sense??

The times are 35, 35, 60, 45, and 30 for writing which is 3 hours and 25min., even with a 10min. break between each section (and with the SAT's i've taken breaks were between 5-10min. so i cant see them being longer) it's only 4hr. and 5min. meaning even though im taking the writing i should be done by about 12:05 right?

For those who have taken the ACT's how long is the whole process from the time you get there? Will they actually start at 8:00 or do they wait until around 8:30?

Thanks a lot,
David

It takes about 10-20 min. before starting the test to fill out the ACT form, reading directions, passing out pencils etc. and than the same thing happens before the writing as well since the proctor has to go around and take up all the booklets one by one, pass out all the writing ones, and than you have to fill out some stuff on that than a page of directions again.

So yea I'd say it is right

Or, you could end up with an incompetent proctor or the custodian forgot his keys..... and the test doesn't start until 9 or later....with writing, assume closer to 1:00 pm.

well that blows :(
