ACT Tips

I took 2 practice tests:

One was from petersons and the other one was from the online ACT course.

I've been reviewing the English section lately, so I haven't practiced on the other sections.

Practice ACT 1(Petersons):

Composite: 27(26.75)

English 20
Math 28
Reading 31
Science 28

Practice ACT 2(ACT online course by ACT):

Composite: 26(25.5)

English 23
Math 27
Reading 27
Science 25

Why are there 2-3 point differences? Why did my reading score go down 4 points?

Are there any things that I could do to improve my score?

I'm barely reviewing the English section on the PR book. I haven't reached rhetoric yet.

I'm using the PR book and I order the Real ACT book already.

I guess some of the practice tests are harder than others. Like, I heard that Barron's practice tests are harder than the other ones.
As for tips, I recommend using Barron's ACT. Some people that use said it was difficult, but if you master it, then you'll do better.

It's very true that some of the practice tests are harder than others, especially when they come from different test-prep companies. With that said, the most accurate way to track your improvement would be to stick to one test-prep company at a time. For example, if you take a Kaplan practice ACT, try to take another Kaplan one to get a better sense of how much you are improving. Switching around does not allow you to compare as easily.

buy Barron's ACT also and work through it religiously and your score should go up. the most important thing is practice.
