on the math part, did anyone know how to figure out the triangle one, where you had to find the fraction of the triangle that was shaded and it had like little triangles in it? I guessed and put down the last answer.

For that one, I guessed 13/16, or something. I had time to figure it out, but I guess I didn't want to or something, because I did no checking whatsoever on any section.

I looked at a few things, and trusting that you were all right and the ACT isn't as sneaky/nasty as the SAT, assumed that by some theorem or another, the four main triangles were congruent. Since one of the triangles was only 1/4 shaded, I assumed that the whole thing was (4+4+1+4)/16, or 13/16 shaded.

I only wrote a page and around five lines. I thought I did fine on the essay, though. They gave us four pages though. FOUR PAGES!

can you keep colleges from seeing the test score from today, but still see how horribly i did? I need to cancel my scores. i didn't do finish about 6 math 20 reading and 7 science questions and there is no way that is going to be a score i want ppl to see that. i still want to try to see my score and get the test with answers back though. how does that work out?

The detachable part of the admissions ticket that you kept. Modify the colleges list (or in your case, remove all four of them, or however many colleges you had specified) and send it in. It must be received the Thursday following the test, or something like that.

When it comes to sending scores, you don't have to send them at all, and if you want to, you can opt to send just the best one, or so I hear.

"on the math part, did anyone know how to figure out the triangle one, where you had to find the fraction of the triangle that was shaded and it had like little triangles in it? I guessed and put down the last answer."

I think the answer was .8125 (13/16) because you know that 3 out of the 4 triangles were shaded. This gives you .75. Then there was 1/4 of that triangle that was not shaded, which gives you .25 * (1/4) + .75 (from before).

I got the same answer for the triangle one. It seemed easy enough to answer without any math. Three of the choices were less than 3/4, one was 3/4, and one was greater. Entirely ignoring the size of the small one, just realize that 3/4 is shaded outside and the small one has to equal something. The problem should have only taken a few seconds.

Four pages for an essay is absurd. Mine was only about 1.5

About sending scores, what are the consequences of sending my scores to a school 3 times? I picked the schools when registering for this test and the March test.

Speaking of math, I didn't know the last question about the equation of the circle at (-2,3) with radius 5. I think I just guessed the last choice.

YAY...that's what I put. i'm excited - i think i got a perfect score on the math part!!!! and this is my first time taking the test!!!! BUT, my horrible science and reading scores will just ruin my composite score.

I got 13/16 for the triangle one too. Does anyone remember the english question (I am not good with grammar) that was like: Have you ever said you were tounge tied? Did that have a comma anywhere in it or was it no change? Thanks

If you have "The Real ACT Prep Guide", go to page 306, Question 12, it might look a little familiar. ;)

O man, I was so paranoid at my makeshift answers on that dew one, that i don't even remember the last section of science because it was on my mind the whole time.

On reading, I used logic to get my last few answers on the chicken passage because the time didn't allow me to think it through.

What did people get on that Dew one about the airplane flying at some altitude with clouds ubove and below and what caused it?

What do I do if I missed the test? I forgot all about it and did not take it. What happens?

nothing happens, I don't think you get a refund.

I don't know. I looked it over a few times, looked at my watch, said 'screw it' (but not out loud), and put the first choice. Or was it the third? I don't even remember. I think the third...

"What did people get on that Dew one about the airplane flying at some altitude with clouds ubove and below and what caused it?"

I think it was the first answer, which is that the clouds start at 600 and go past the 1200 mark. This is because you have to look of the four cities and find which one has a cloud base line at an alitude less than 1200m.

DANGIT I haven't told my parents I missed it yet, they will kill me..

I think you can move it to another date for a charge?

No, when you miss it, you just miss it.

Thanks Taws, you seem like you had time on your side.

What did everyone think of that liberal/conservative, democratic/republican passage? It was extremely confusing

http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/missedtest.html

I guess you might be able to change the test date.

Ah...I kinda liked that passage. A lot of the question answer choices were more or less exactly taken from the passage.

Also, how many versions of the ACT are there? For example when we were filling out the form, there were options such as 53D, 53E,...Maybe the answer choices are changed?

That passage was retarded, but, the most retarded, boring, absolutely useless passage was that F'n egg one. I had to read it and answer the questions in about 7 mins. The math was really easy to me. Science and grammar, same, except that stupid cloud crap.
