ACT versus SAT scores?

Hi everyone--I'm having some trouble choosing which scores to send for college applications. Here are my two scores (by way of background, I'm from the Midwest, so that's why I took both):

SAT:
CR: 700
M: 720
W: 800
Essay: 12

ACT: 35 (on all subsections and composite)

On the one hand, I know the ACT is technically the better score via the score conversion charts, but I'd also like colleges to see that I made the effort and took the SAT (I also don't want to refrain from sending a perfect 800 and 12 on the essay portion, as I am most interested in writing and English)

I'll be applying to a few Ivy League schools and I know that the rest of my SAT scores simply are not very good (relatively, of course).

So, should I send both?

Are you planning on taking the SAT again?

No. So I’m guessing based on that question that you would recommend sending ACT only?

2220 is strong pretty much everywhere. perfect writing section would look good, like you said, with your passion for english.

i would send both.

guess we need a tiebreaker.

Not all schools count the writing scores, but it is easy to figure out the ones that do. It wouldn’t hurt in those cases to send the SAT to those schools only. Otherwise, the ACT score is fantastic.
