Hi, so can anyone help me?
So my ACT is way better than my SAT score. Is it okay to just send my ACT score to colleges and not the SAT? Would colleges look down on the fact I send only my ACT score?
I also heard that if you take the ACT you don't have to take Sat subject tests.?

Its completely fine. And yeah that’s true

Keep in mind some schools can require some SAT subject tests, in addition to either SAT or ACT.

I took both, and my ACT score was far better than my SAT score. Whenever possible, I’m going to omit my SAT :P

I would still take subject tests though. The ACT doesn’t cover for them, if anything SAT Subject Tests are most similar to AP exams.

Emeral, that’s not true. Of course, not many colleges and universities require SAT Subject Test scores to begin with. But of the relative handful that do, many will accept ACT scores in lieu of the SAT reasoning test and the subject tests.

As MITer said, this is not universally true. It is very important for every applicant to check the requirements of each college or university that he or she is applying to. But as far as I know, there are more institutions that will accept ACT in lieu of SAT plus subject tests than ones that won’t.

Go here: [Compass: Admissions Requirements](<a href=“SAT Subject Test Requirements and Recommendations - Compass Education Group”>SAT Subject Test Requirements and Recommendations - Compass Education Group) Click on each college that shows that 2 subject tests are required and you will get a box telling you whether the ACT test is accepted in lieu of both SAT and SAT IIs. Of the 29 colleges that require subject tests, 18 accept ACT in lieu of both SAT and SAT IIs and the other 11 still require subject tests even if you submit ACT. Note also that many of those colleges listed that recommend but do not require subject tests recommend them regardless of whether you send SAT or ACT.

As to whether you can submit just ACT when you have an SAT score, you need to check each college’s rules. Most allow that but some, e.g., Stanford and Penn, require you to report both all SAT and all ACT scores you have.

As to whether you will succeed in hiding your SAT score from a college if you send only ACT, you need to check what your high school puts on your official high school transcript sent to colleges because many put all your test scores on it and thus not ordering it sent by College Board will accomplish nothing.
