For ED at Brown, I used the ACT in lieu of SAT2 tests (i gotta 34) and also submitted my SAT 1 scores. Will I be looked down upon for doing this? (I live in the Northeast) I never had the opportunity to take Sat2's (well I did I just wasn't aware of it) until it was too late for ED.

Will using the ACT hurt me in the admission process, or will they just add it into the AI equation and not think twice about it?

oh by the way, brown does not require SAT2s, and I checked it over with admissions, and they said it was fine, but I feel like someone on CC can give me the more "real" answer

if schools accept both tests than it shouldnt make a difference..dont worry about it!

but i feel like it implies that I have no depth of knowledge, only breadth.

I also hear alot from this board about how ACT's aren't seen as equal...whatever

but that does make me feel better?

Also....will subscores matter?
34 English
34 Math
32 Reading
34 Science

33 Writing/English Combined (10 Essay)

If a college didnt see the ACT as equal or didnt think it reflected anything from a student...the answer would be simple..they simply wouldnt accept the ACT...but since they do accept it...that must not be the case

Also some colleges have the option of making you take the SAT2 even when they allow for ACTs to replace the SAT1...like i think georgetown requires sat2s either way you go..in that case...yes i would worry...but your colleges obviously dont see it that way!

yeah, about half of my RD schools require (or recommend) 2 SAT subject tests, which sucks because I literally (this will make me seem ignorant) didn't know about them until 3 monthes ago. I guess it'll be Lit and MathII, its been too long since I finished a class in any of the testable subjects.

are you going to take the december test?

yes, as a standby.

any tips for prep???

although english and math seem pretty like....not something you prep for.

also, should I take Math 1?
I got a 780 on the SAT1 math section (may have gone up to an 800) and I blew through that pretty easily. I don't really mess up bubbles or make stupid mistakes with such an easy level of math, so I don't have to worry about the steep curve so much. I was planning on Math 2, but I haven't taken any calculus or pre-calc.

do colleges think an 800 on math 2 is more impressive than an 800 on math 1
on the surface I would say yes, but when you take into account that the cruve on math 2 will give you an 800 with up to 7 wrong, I have to wonder
