Act vs. Sat, or both?

I have taken both of these tests twice and am simply wondering which scores would look better to a college. I know at some schools I will have to send all my scores but at the ones with score choice which tests showcase me best? I plan to be an engineer if that makes a difference.
SAT: Total 2000: 700Math 650 CR 650 Writing
SAT: Total 1990: 750Math 670 CR 570 Writing

ACT: 31 C: 29E, 32M, 33R, 31S and 9 on writing
ACT: 33C: 32E, 32M, 36R, 33S and haven't gotten writing yet.

I feel like the SAT better shows my proficiency in math but my ACTs are all around better. All replies are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your last ACT is definitely better than all other scores.
Math 750 in SAT is about the same as ACT Math 32 (both at 97-98 percentile).

I also have 3 Sat subject tests (math2 (690), us history (690), and physics (620)) that I would have to send if I sent an SAT, or alternatively just the ACT with writing and not send any subject tests

Well, your SAT2 scores are mediocre. If you can send the ACT 33 without subject test, it may probably work better for you.

@billcsho thanks for the help! if anyone knows how I can use the common app to send all scores to some colleges and only certain scores to others I would appreciate it

You don’t send scores on CommonApp, you only self-report them at your will. You still need to go through ACT or Collegeboard to order score reports to be sent to the schools.

@billcsho Yes but it asks “How many times have you taken the SAT” and then prompts you to fill in your highest scores. I can’t just lie can I?

Just don’t report your SAT scores and you don’t need to answer that question. If you do choose to answer it, do it faithfully. There is really nothing against you by taking SAT twice and get 2000.

My advice - report your highest ACT and do NOT self-report that you took any SATs. A school like Tufts requires “all test scores” but that still only applies to the one test (ACT or SAT) that you choose – so you would have to submit the test scores from both times that you took the ACT. Your subject test scores are quite low compared to many students who are applying to engineering programs - so the other benefit of the ACT is that many schools ask for “SAT + 2 subject tests OR ACT”

There are only a dozen or so schools require SAT2 even if you submit ACT.
