I'm a straight A student looking at elite schools

I took the SATs after having tutors in March and got a 1930 (650,650,630)
I took the ACTs with absolutely no prep in April and got a 31 composite

SAT IIs: 730 on Bio, waiting on Lit scores

Should I just not bother with the SATs since my score with prep was not comparable to my 4.0 uw and 4.28 w GPA? and just focus on getting my ACT up to a 33-34ish with prep?
Is it ok just to send an ACT score with my sat IIs and AP tests? instead of SATs?

HELPP!!!

Colleges will consider whichever score is higher.

Yes, it’s fine to just send your ACT. Colleges say SAT OR ACT, not necessarily both. But you can only send it if you took ACT with writing, because most colleges only accept ACT with writing.

I took it with writing… but the writing score isn’t up yet on the website.

my true questions are: should i even bother taking the SATs again? Should I just focus on getting my ACT up to the highest it can be? Do you think my ACTs will go up with prep?

I would focus on ACTs only. I can’t say that your score will definitely go up with prep, but it is certainly likely that it will.
Good Luck!

Both of your SAT and ACT scores will go up with prep… but I think it depends on which format you liked more. I generally thought the ACT gave you more problems, but that they were easier, while the SAT gave you fewer, harder questions. I personally liked the ACT more because of the science section, which i somehow got perfect on and which allowed me to score a 32.

Also, I would suggest taking the SAT if you want certain sections to stand out, like math if you’re going down engineering. I believe that the ACT tells colleges not to look at individual sections at only at the composite (recall them saying this at a USC meeting).
