ACT vs SAT (Well taking both)

Hey everyone, just wanted some study advice for taking both the ACT and the SAT in Sept and Oct of this coming year.

I'll tell you a little about my predicament right now. I took the ACT this year around April (I think that was the month) and I "wasn't in the testing mode" so to speak. I was coming over a cold and my nose was like a leaky faucet the whole test and my attention wasn't solely on the test.

In the end I got a 26 composite score which was better than I thought it'd be since I ended up guessing alot on the Reading and Science portions. For the schools I am applying to a 26 is on the low end of their admission averages and I am aiming for a 30.

My question is that I want to take the SAT as well since some of the schools I am apply to offer scholarships if you submit both tests. I have never taken the SAT before but looked over a book that compared both tests and O find that the SAT (at least math sections) are different than what I am used to.

Should I study for the ACT and the SAT as two separate tests or should I just study for the SAT, since I have heard that SAT prep does help with the ACT.

Just wondering what you all think and thanks for any responses.

PS-I am going to buy the CC SAT study book right now

Do you mean the College Board one?

Study for them separately; though somewhat similar, they are decidedly different tests.

Yes I do plan on buying the “Blue Book”. Any tips for tackling both?
