Act Vs. Sat

Which is easier??

i think ACT is wayyy easier, but what do u guys think

I thought that the SAT was much easier. On the SAT, there is more time and less pressure. Furthermore, the ACT math covers more advanced mathematical concepts than the old SAT math did.

chanman, it's so interesting that you say this because a lot of people at my school think that the ACT is easier than the SAT. I simply can not understand such reasoning. So tell me, why do you believe that the ACT is easier?

Though I've only taken the PLAN and PSAT, I definitely found the PSAT way easier. As vtoodler said, the math section tests more difficult concepts and the time pressure is much worse. I was always running to the last seconds on the PLAN, but I often had 5 minutes or more at the end of each PSAT section to look over my answers. I'm assuming the ACT and SAT will be similar to their pre-tests.

i got a 99% percentile for ACT science asd a freshman its so easy. i thought science would be hard because i never seen it on tests like this before

The only thing that's harder about the ACT is math, potentially. For some reason I always do the worst on the math sections even though I perform really well at math competitions etc. O_O

But the english/reading on the ACT is much, much easier. For some reason the SAT verbal bits always make me unsure of myself, and the ACT never does.

i took both the SATS and ACTS and my scores were about the same: 1230 on SATS is roughly the same as my 28 on the ACTS. so i guess they were about the same for me and i liked how i had to answer all the questions on the ACTS, i hate leaving answers on tests blank.

Which seems easier can partially be attributed to geographical location. It's a fact that Canadians, on average, do better on the ACT than the SAT. This may be due to inherent differences in the curriculum, especially with respect to the math section. The reson the science section was so easy is because it is a 'reasoning' section. Unlike the other sections, it does not test achievement, but rather it tests aptitude.

As for the SAT vs the ACT in general, it is a widely known that the SAT is useless. It attempts to measure something that cannot be measured, especially in a three hour test of vocabulary and simple mathematics questions. The fact that aptitude cannot be measured is something that almost every psychologist agrees with. The ACT on the other hand measures achievement (except the science section). This is something that can indeed be measured. Trying to compare the two is moot because they test different things. A better comparison would be between the ACT and the SAT II's

I just took the Feb 12th ACT. The time for Math was awful. Day before, I took the SAT diagnostic for my pr class (not a smart move, I know). I found the SAT to be much easier. Also... I don't think my ACT score will come anywhere near my PSAT score... AH!

geographic location..thats true too

but, i think the ACT VERBAL is WAY easier, for couple reasons
1. i'm asian haha..i dont speak english at home..i dont have a big vocab
2. ACT is grammar and stuff...i can learn that easily
3. Vocab is hard to "learn"
4. The science in the ACT is all charts...thats nothing

But, the ACT MATH Is CRAZYYYYYY
I took it freshman year and i got a 35 on it, and i missed like 1 problem
But i took it Feb 12. and I realized i couldnt finish 4 problems!!!
