ACT vs. SAT?

I'm planning on applying for a UC, and I was wondering if just taking the SAT and the SAT II is enough? I know a lot of people who are taking both the ACT and SAT..
Should I also do the ACT?
Or just are the SATs enough...

Either test is perfectly fine. Oftentimes people take both because they want to see if they are more adept at either one or the other-- and then end up sending in whichever score is best out of the two. You’re golden with the SAT and SAT II. It’s completely sufficient.

Ahh! Thank you so muchhh. This is real helpful :].

I’ve took the ACT, and it’s not going all well. I’m thinking about switching to taking the SAT in October, what is SAT II?

Coolbrezze, SAT II (or now called SAT Subject Tests) is just a test on a specific subject. For example, Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Bio, etc, etc. Some schools require it to get into the school, like MIT I think requires a science SAT II and either Math I or Math IIC because they want to see how strong you are in the subject area (MIT of course is a very competitive technical school, so they want to see how good you are in math + science).

Okay thanks, I’m going to see to taking the SAT… see which I do better on.
