<p>They may “consider” the subscores but what they are concerned with their reporting stats (common data set). Many games can be played with this (when students report SAT & ACT does the school include both or only the higher?) & the fact that only composite scores are reported can help a student with a large CR / M discrepency.</p>
<p>csdad is exactly right. Schools want to publish scores that make their accepted students look as scholarly as possible. By publishing only ACT composites they have flexibility to admit some attractive candidates who have outlying subscores.</p>
