ACT with and without writing at New York University (Help!)

Hello! So my situation is:

I've taken the ACT with writing. I only scored a 29 on it (33 E, 31 M, 25 R, 28 S, E/W 30). However, when I took the State Mandated ACT this spring, I scored a 32 (35 E, 31 M, 31 R, 29 S). The massive downside and big worry of mine is that the state ACT didn't offer a writing component. So my question is: at NYU (and any other schools you know of) would they view the 32 as my highest, and then use the 30 E/W from my first ACT test date? Or would they only be able to use the 29?

I'd absolutely love to go to NYU, and otherwise have a 4.0 GPA, a relatively long list of EC's, and great recommendations. But I worry that my testing scores will be my downfall. Also, if it helps, on my SAT I, I got 1990 (700 Math, 650 Reading, 640 Writing) and on my SAT II's I got 780 on Math 2, 750 Biology E, and 750 on Math 1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Which school are you trying to apply?
