ACT worries

Hello hello...

My name is Andr

I’ve taken both the ACT and the SAT, the ACT was easier for me although my lowest score was on the science part-which I suck at. I got a pretty good composite score. Tips for the reading…read the passage before looking at the questions…it helped out a lot. On the math…if you have no idea how to do it skip it and then if u have time come back to it. Then if there’s no choice go back and bubble in an answer. On the science…good luck…lol
n yea definitely take the SAT…who knows you might do better…good luck!!!

But I mean…you have appox. 8 mins…to answer 10 questions plus read something… That’s just not possible…

As far as math goes, how long should I take on the maj. of the questions?

English…it’s just simple mistakes that cause me to miss everytime…I guess I just have to be more careful…Without any mistake…I could get about a 30-31 in English…

And science…May God be with me on that part…

What can I do to prepare myself for it this time? Read the ACT book (I own a copy)

Give advice please… and thanks SO much yuyis09…I appreciate it a lot…

man i hated the science section. it was the only section that messed up my composite. still happy with the composite, but the science section was ridiculous. plus, it does NOT really test science knowledge! it just tests to see if you can finish things in less time than is needed.

All you can do is study and do the very best you can. Not everyone can get a 36 or whatever you need so dont try to set your sights too high but studying can definalty help thats all there really is to say. Try to be calm and work as fast as possible while not loosing accuracy. Make sure when doing the reading section skim and then look for key words the answer is usually very plainly in the passage. Science just skip to the questions and look through the graph for what you need. Math you should have enough time to finish just work diligently. English try reading the sparknotes sat grammer review it made my english composite go from a 29 to a 32. I managed to pull off a 33 composite btw.

Hope this helps,
Mike

sylvan is terrible for act pre in science reasoning and reading

save money and use them for only english and math

for the reading section and science DO ALOT OF PRACTICE TESTS!!!

i got 34 on eng/reading

i used sylvan to improve my science score and it went down 7 points

Try the SAT. Most people do better on one or the other test. But you said you’re a senior? It may be too late unless you’re signed up for the Dec. test, which is tomorrow. I thought Dec. was the last chance for seniors. (?) Since there’s no guessing penalty on the ACT, fill in random/educated guess answers for ones you really don’t know, and hope for the best. If you don’t fill anything in, you’ll have NO chance of getting it right, but if you do, you’ll have at least SOME chance. Good luck with life!!!
