I saw on another thread where the ACT essay should be written "differently" than the SAT. Is that true? Could someone explain what the differences should be?

All I can think of is that the ACT prompts are more broad and vague, while the SAT prompts give you a specific opinion question that you must take a side on. But you still need an introduction, examples, commentary, and a conclusion for both essay tests.

You NEED to make sure that you address counterarguments to your thesis somewhere in your essay. I have a ton of friends who wrote an amazing essay but forgot to do that and ended up getting 8-9s when they truly deserved 11-12s
