<p>I understand ACT writing is optional but many colleges require writing score. Writing is basically Essay. Is this understanding correct? </p>
<p>So my composite score with or without writing will be average of English, reading, Science and Math. Correct? So does this mean writing has no effect on composite score? How do colleges us writing score then? </p>
<p>If I have writing score from SAT, can that be used if some colleges need it? Can you just send SAT writing score and nothing else?</p>
