ACT writting retake question

I have a quick question, I took the ACT Plus Writting in April and I got my scores back and I did average on the ACT and I did well on the writting. I got a 21 on the ACT and a 9 on the writting. I'm happy with my writting score, but I want to improve on my ACT composite. Anyways if I retake the ACT, and take the standard test next time, will my writting score from the first test carry over as a separate score or am I forced to take the writting section all over again?

No, the scores don't carry over. They won't mix and match them.

Sometimes depending on the college, they may mix-match for you.

well i talked to my counselor today and he said i should be fine if i take the normal test.
