act writting section

I have heard a numerous amount of times that the act writting/english section is the easiest sectiong to raise your score on, but how should I go about preparing for the act writting sectiong in order to raise my score? Should I just do practice tests and get famililar with the common mistakes, or should I go over some basic grammer rules? comment with your suggestions. THANKS

sry meant to have english/writting as the topic. I am wondering about study techniques to raise english score.

The essay is not included in the main composite score, instead they combine it with the english to form a seperate score
They like to give debatable topics about school and student life (on the last Oct. test the topic was along the lines of "should schools continue to spend time and money on traditional events such as dances and rallies?")
I'd buy/rent a review book with practice tests and do all of them. I'm borrowing mine from a public library...but be aware that if you borrow a 2004 or earlier book, there will be no section on writing
best of luck..

is the essay on writing scored in a range from 2-12 just like SAT?

r u supposed to use examples from lit and history?

Yes, it is. But remember the essay doesn't factor into your composite at all (good thing!).

is it also two graders grading the test?

Yes. (10 char)

learning how to spell might be good. lol
