Is a 34 act bad?
Is this a humble brag or are you genuinely unaware? Do you know what %ile that is?
If there’s even a chance that you believe 34 is bad, then you have some really horrible advisors.
Because many people at my school applying for ivied all got 35 and 36s
34 is not the reason an Ivy will reject you. Other parts of your application will be heavily scrutinized at that point.
But if you’re really hung up on having “only” 34, take another shot at the test, especially if you’re a sophmore.
If you can do math well enough to get a 34 on the ACT, you should know that being in the top 1% is not a bad thing. It is best to focus on yourself and stop comparing your score to your friends.
You’re an idiot. If you just google act scores and see it is in the 99% obviously it is good.
Instead of CC’s “Like” icon, I wish there was a “dope slap” icon
These are the types of threads that kill confidence for individuals with scores below 34. Good/Bad are entirely useless words without other context. Let us say we are talking about college admissions (you probably are) there is literally no college where 34 is bad. There may be 3-4 colleges in all of the united states where a 34 is AVERAGE. This is insane. People viewing CC for the first time probably believe that a 33 is an average score!
If you are smart enough to get 34 on act, you should be smart enough to do some research. Also, kids lie/exaggerate about their test scores all the time since no one has any way to see them. My guess is all these ivy applying kids that said they got these high scores won’t get in come May - hmmmm maybe they didn’t get that score afterall? So of 3.3 million high school students in the U.S. and of the only 8,500 total kids that get a 35 or 36, many of them happen to be at your high school. ok. When it comes to listening to college plans with high pressured high school seniors, a good vocab word to know is gullible. About 250K kids of the 3.3M score a 28 and above leaving more than 3 million to score less than that (of course not every senior takes it so the totals are rough, but you get the idea).
Next will be the exaggeration of scholarship offers. Kids that get need aid will have you think they got a merit scholarship, it’s not. Just worry about how you are doing, you will never see most of these people after next May anyway.

There is no indication that the OP got that score. There are 9 threads by this OP and all are similar–one line questions that don’t seem connected to anything. The OP is obviously quite productive and resourceful in terms of threads but posters may be interested in reading the others before replying.
A lot of kids do lie about their scores. Pretty much everyone I talked to claimed to have gotten 99th% on the PSAT, but when NMSF results came out, I knew the truth. Lol.
