"Rice requires all freshmen applicants to take the SAT or the ACT with the writing test. In addition, all freshmen applicants must take two SAT Subject Tests in fields related to the candidate’s proposed area of study. For information about submitting your test scores, please view our standardized testing web page.

As stated in our admission philosophy, Rice utilizes a holistic review process rather than a formulaic process. Rice does not have a minimum SAT or ACT score; however, it is important to note that our applicant pool is quite strong and therefore our applicants’ scores are often quite high. The middle 50 percent of the entering class of 2005 scored between 1350 and 1510 on the SAT. For students who submitted the ACT, the middle 50 percent range composite score was 30 to 34."

Lizzie ... do you or others know if they take high scores in each area regardless of testing date?

No they only take the highest composite score for each testing date. They won't mix and match the scores.
