Act

I got a 33 ACT in June (33 English 32 Math 34 Reading 33 Science 31 Eng/Writing) should I retake it in October or is it pointless?

33 is solid. i would stick wid it

33 is a great score. But with the ACT, unlike the SAT, you have score choice. If you decided to take the ACT again, you would only have to let colleges know about your retake if the score turned out to be higher. And if the score on the retake were higher, you could hide your 33. This being the case, if you're OK giving up the time and the money, you have nothing to lose by retaking.

The college sees all of your scores anyways because the counselor sends it in, but the only problem is if I get a lower score they would see it since I would have to directly send it to them.

college59, There has been a good deal of discussion on the Parents' board about counselors sending scores to colleges rather than leaving the decision as to which scores should be sent to students. For students who take both SAT's and ACT's and want to send colleges only the test results for the test on which they did best, having counselors send in scores can be a problem. Obviously, there is no way that a 33 is a problem, but could you ask your counselor to keep your scores off your transcript (or have the ACT not sent to your high school) to take the risk out of trying again? I mean, if you potentially have something to lose (a lower score that colleges would see), staying with an already excellent score could be a good move. But if you could try again with no risk whatsoever....

Are you going to also send in SAT IIs? Stanford indicates that it strongly recommends that you submit them.

Yes In case you are wondering I got a 1930 on the SAT
