I have a 30 ACT. Is that good enough for Cal? I'm asian too, so I'm afraid there's a higher bar for me.

My friend got a 32 and got rejected. I got a 31 and a 30 (reported both) and got in but had some pretty good softs and a VERYY solid GPA. I’m Asian, too

Race/ethnicity is not considered at all for admission (it was outlawed by Prop 209 back in the 90s; yes, it means it’s illegal to use race/ethnicity for the purpose of determining admission).

You can see a breakdown of admitted students based on ACT score range at http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/pdf/ucb_chart.pdf. This should help you figure out where you stand.

I got a 31 and I’m in, if that helps any.

i’m a transfer and i got rejected with a 33 when i applied in high school.

I think you should take the ACT/SAT again. You might be able to get in with your current score, but you would be a much more solid candidate if you can improve it.
